Payment Options
How much does it cost? Several factors are involved in determining the orthodontic fee. Some of these factors include: the severity of the problem, the length of treatment time and the type of appliances required to correct the condition. In addition, the patient's age, dental condition and overall health are taken into consideration.
Dr. McSweeney and his team know how important orthodontic treatment is. That's why we have set up a number of flexible payment plans so that this lifelong investment can fit the financial needs of the patient:
For those who are able to pay off their balances in full at the beginning of treatment, we extend the following courtesy:
5% discount – paid in full by cash or check
3% discount – paid in full by credit card -- we accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover.
We also offer two financing options:
CareCredit is a 3rd party financing company that allows the treatment fee to be paid over as many as five years. Many of our patients like CareCredit because they are able pay lower monthly payments with no downpayment. There is also no penalty for paying the balance off early.
With our in-house financing, we require a down payment and then spread the remaining balance over the course of the treatment, which is paid in monthly installments. We do not charge interest, provided the payments are made on time and in accordance with the contract.
Insurance
We talk every day with lots of insurance companies and know how to help you get the most out of your insurance benefit. Remember that insurance policies vary, so we will review your insurance to determine how to maximize your benefit.
If your insurance covers orthodontic treatment, you will receive the benefit of reduced personal costs. Some insurers pay our office directly, while others send the checks to the subscriber. Many insurance policies have a lifetime orthodontic benefit that is separate from regular dental insurance. We will file a pre- determination for you (to find out what your insurance covers) and once treatment has started, we will file all of your claims for you.

Flex Plans
Maximize your tax savings! Now is the time to begin planning your Health Care Reimbursement accounts for next year. Most employers require your Health Care Reimbursement account decisions for the next year beginning in October.
If you think your children or other family members might be ready to begin active orthodontic treatment, please don't wait to schedule an appointment. Dr. McSweeney will need to perform a complete evaluation to determine the treatment plan for your child or family member.
